Founded by Chef Bruno Abate in 2014, Recipe for Change is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational program at the Cook County jail. It provides instruction in both the culinary and fine arts to detainees five days per week.

Recipe For Change gives students the necessary tools to gain employment upon reentry. Research shows that post-incarceration employment is a significant factor in reducing recidivism rates. The program both encourages and supports students to express their creativity as it believes creativity has a positive impact on mental health. RFP is an environment that emphasizes community, positivity, and collaboration to support success.
